Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence, or is this the wrong crowd for that?

www.imdb.com/title/tt0816711/ (IMDB link) Based on Max Brooks novel and tipped to come out in 2012, World War Z (starring Brad Pitt) is a collection of survivor tales gathered by the author for a report into the events ten years earlier when Zombies nearly destroyed mankind

SciFiShocks recently alerted us to a twitter feed delivering warnings and updates of an ongoing zombie threat. I thought that this would be a brilliant way to advertise/ tease for the WWZ movie. Not that I think thats what it is, just that it would really work!
In regards to the movie its self, I think its a shame that it isnt being serialised and made for TV. I think they are more likely to drop the format of the book and try a more linear retelling for a movie. I live in hope however that there will be roles for Alan Alda and Mark Hamill. I dont think it would be the same without them.

World War Z & The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks are both excellent book. It will be interesting to see how it works as a film.

Books are brilliant. I'm intrigued by the movie adaptation - I shall have to keep an eye out

I'm hoping the movie will work. The book is great, but it will make a difficult transition to film.

Teenager-of -Destruction just chimed in on the Twitter teaser idea to suggest that it is written from the POV of the Japanese kid who spends all his time online.
Your right though, RB. Very worried that it wont translate. Also worried that they will work all over some of the characters like the disabled girl and not portray them properly.

I had heard whispers that they were looking at a possible trilogy. That would make more sense, given that the one I worked on is actually as the outbreak happens. The next two could be more like the book. Can't wait to see it. I'm supposed to be in the opening scenes of the film where Pitt and family have to flee Philadelphia at the beginning of the outbreak. I'll be one of the riot police that are trying to herd people away from the infected who then... well I won't spoil anything!
