It's a rare sight to see an 'indie' game that can compete with, and even surpass, the big title stuff you see coming out every year. I am, of course, talking about Minecraft. It's the kind of game where you can fight monsters at night, build imaginative structures by day, run away from Creepers ( www.fohguild.org/forums/attachments/other-games/151179d1284804236-minecraft-echo-hyperionstudios-net-creepers_by_turnthephage.png ) to the ends of the world (which is an incredible 4x the size of Earth's surface, and more. And the game gives you nothing. You make everything from the trees you punch down, and the minerals you mine. It's cheaper than other games too. And no installment required, the game builds itself when you run the program. Below is an extraordinary 1:1 scale model of the Enterprise-D, made block-by-block. And each block is 1 meter cubed.

I love minecraft! I had a server up and running a while ago, but it decided to go arse-up on me I was playing yesterday - couldn't find any coal, so used a furnace for light, but then I ran out of wood to fuel it - walled myself into a single block wide cell so nothing could get me, then broke out once morning came. Of course the creeper then decided to destroy the front wall of my mine entrance

I've had to devote an entire double chest to coal. Want some? Please take it!
