Here's a close-up on the cover picture.

Big respect to you for the cover LC! That is one hell of a cover, cool creature design also!Altough I liked the Cloverfield monster design, I still think it would have been cool if they took an approach like this cover for the monster...

A strange deep-sea creature I mean. I remember that one of the Cloverfield trailers showed people walking toward bright light. I thought: WOW what cool, the creature is from the deep sea and is using light to attract its victims (like the angler fish) and all those people are walking towards it. But this was not true, the lights turned out to be military lights... Missed chance I think...

Thanks Thunder Child. But did the creature in Cloverfield come from the deep? in the video footage taken at Coney Island, the footage of Rob and Beth's date on April 27. In the distance, unnoticed by Rob and Beth, a large object falls into the ocean. It is seen very briefly at the top right-hand side of the picture just before the camera swings back onto Beth. So was the creature awoken from Deep by a meteorite impact? or did it come from outerspace?

Good work dude, that is properly amazing!! Wow!! Re: Cloverfield, I'm sure the falling object is supposed to be the origin of the creature itself. Imagine the chances of a meteor bonking the head of a dormant alien creature under the sea. About the same chances as winning the lottery.

Thanks Poyks. I had mentioned the creature having come from another world over on eveofthewar.co.uk a few years back and someone there suggested a meteorite may have awoken a creature that had been dormant for millennia. I didn't think it likely either. ;D

I did follow the viral campaign for Cloverfield quite a bit, and eventuelly a fake newsreport turned up that showed an oil rig beining destroyed by something unknown (the monster). Also some Japanese company was drilling in the ocean floor and found something strange. Pictures of the seabed floor turned up which showed those parasites. So it seems that the monster was wakened by these drillings and it went on a rampage. Will have a look if I can find this stuff on the net.
The splash on the footage is made by a Japanese satellite that crashed back to earth. It is not made clear (as far as I know off) if this is related to the monster.
JJ Abrams made this comment on the monster: "The concept for the monster is simple. He's a baby. He's brand-new. He's confused, disoriented and irritable. And he's been down there in the water for thousands and thousands of years."
