What are your top video games?
Bearing in mind that I don't have any latest gen consoles (yet)... Mine (currently) are (in no particular order)...
-Return to Castle Wolfenstein (FPS PS2) Awesome.
-Doom 1/2- the original (XBOX conversions of the original PC titles- I love them!)
-Star Wars Battlefront 2 (XBOX)- it's one up on the more accessible SW:BF1 because of the superior story line.
-Tiger Woods PGA Tour (XBOX). I dunno what it is about video golf games but they are infinitely playable. I got my first PGA Tour game on the Megadrive!
-Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2 (PS2) Brilliant dungeon crawler.
-The Lord of The Rings:The Two Towers (GBA) another fantastic dungeon crawler.
-Doom 3 (XBOX)- I dare you not to shit your pants playing this!
-Wolfenstein 3D (GBA) near perfect conversion (lacks music but stick Classic FM on your radio while playing and, to me, it works surprisingly well).
-Warioware Inc (GBA). Such simplicity and yet with a challenge in it's depths. Brilliant.
-Burnout 3: Takedown: (XBOX) Ace racer/ crashfest.
-The Pinball of the Dead (GBA) Pinball game based on 'The House of the Dead'
-Sonic Pinball Party (GBA) Yes, I love pinball games. This one is based on Sonic and other Sega characters such as 'NiGHTS' and others.
-Jet Set Willy 2 (PC remake) You can complete this! Fantastic game!
-Space Invaders. What isn't to like?
-Pokemon. (GBA) I have become convinced that there is something primal within us all that could explain these game's appeal. Something that appeals to the competitiveness in all of us without uber-violence. An innocence (that doesn't make you vomit) that I haven't seen in many a year of gaming. Great fun and highly addictive.
-Alien Trilogy (PS1) STILL a great game based on the movie series.
-Castlevania. Well, I have a few of these and love them all. 'Symphony of the Night' for the PS1 is ace even now (what a music soundtrack!). I also have 3 GBA Castlevania games of varying greatness. I'd say 'Aria of Sorrow' is my favourite, overall.
