From the BBC Films website...
Friday 19th October
Halloween Rocker turned slasher pic director Rob Zombie remakes John Carpenter's 1978 horror. It ain't going to be pretty.
Has anyone heard anything more about this? I love Carpenter's original and I've certainly enjoyed Zombie's previous films, so seems like a marriage made in heaven, not that I think the original needs to be remade at all.

I too am a fan of both Zombie and Carpenter and the mind boggles at to what Rob will do with the remake. The original doesn't need remaking, but Zombie will doubtless put a new spin on it. I'd expect it to be gritty, certainly. I'd also expect homages to the original in it. It would be interesting to see more about this.

I see it's quite a good solid horror/genre cast, Malcom McDowell, Udo Kier, Brad Dourif and Adrienne Barbeau amongst others. www.imdb.com/title/tt0373883/Interestingly, some of the working titles on IMDB have '9' in the title (which is the number it would be in the series).. despite the fact wiki has it as a remake, and Rob Zombie has stated that this starts from the beginning. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween_(2007_film)Unfortunately, they use that dreaded word 'reimagining' *shiver*. It's only the great cast and Mr Zombie at the helm that makes me hope this won't be a total disaster. John Carpenter is apparently also confident that Rob will do a good job and has given his blessing to the project. And here's the 'shape' himself, 2007 style...

If anyone should be allowed a remake of this movie it is Rob Zombie.
And as for twisted? I think that goes without saying.

You can't make a decent Sci-fi B-movie without Brad Dourif or Malcolm McDowell in the cast ;D
