A top movie that I can watch over and over again.
Kind of High Noon in space.
Peter Hyams directs so it looks like 2010 (no bad thing) but also like Alien- an obvious influence on the sets and opening titles- not to mention the music- Jerry Goldsmith alsom IIRC...

It is a remake of High Noon actually and yes it is a very good film.

Excellent Movie Vastly underrated.  Seems the connection to A L I E N was intentional, the company mining Jupiters moon's could almost be Weyland Yutani in the early days before the Nostromo misson. D.F. |

It is a cool film, some one suggested that outland took place in the Alien Universe because it looked so alike.
Con Am rivals to Wayland Utani.

It does have that feel to it- everything about the film does fit with the look and atmosphere of Alien too. Wasn't Dan O'Bannon involved? I'll have to look it up...

A brilliant film. Definately an underrated classic, you just can't beat a good bit of explosive decompression!
