...Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.
In 3-D!!!
Remember this one? Though of an era similar to the post apocalypse stuff/Sci-Fi bandwagons of the 80's, it was more of a sci fi film- so I didn't put it in the Escape/Mad Max thread.
Three hot bints escape from a crashing ship. A bounty hunter agrees to go get them. Michael Ironside as the big baddie- an 'augmented' cyborg who shoots fireballs (for the 3-D I spose).
I quite enjoyed this as a lad. Haven't seen it for YEEEEEARS though.

I remember my Mum got it out on video for me when I was ill off school once. A film very much of it's time, if i remember it rightly, the mad max influences were just oozing from every frame. I haven't seen or heard of it since.
Wasn't Micheal Ironside's character called something crap like 'Overdog'?

He was called the Overlord I think. It had Peter Strauss as the bounty hunter and a young Molly Ringwald as his sidekick. I like it in a cheesy 80s way.

Well bugger me. it was on Five US last night!!
A lot better than I expected/remember. Not a bad film at all. Not a GREAT film, but certainly more watchable than I thought it would after 20 years or so.
Yeah- the bad guy was Overdog. Michael Ironside hamming it up in style!!
Did anyone else watch it?

Well- seeing 'er in that- I know what I'd like to happen to her...!  oo-er...adventures in the forbidden zone ? she appeared on the " tony danza s how " in november 2004 and is still doing stage work, her moonlighting gigs include reviewing books for the hartford courant and penning celebrity profiles for the westchester journal news, although both newspaper websites do not include any of her columns ( go figure ) she plans to write a book someday. |
