I've been contacted by our friends at Cult TV asking to inform you all of details of the 14th annual Cult TV weekender this October. This will be of interest to SciFi fans and also all of our War of The Worlds enthuasiasts.
The message is as follows:
''Cult TV are proud and delighted to make this announcement for fans of The War of the Worlds TV series which ran between 1988-90.
* Jared Martin *, ‘Dr Harrison Blackwood’ will be making his * FIRST-EVER WORLD CONVENTION * appearance this October.
Besides having played Harrison, Jared is perhaps best known for the roles of Varian in The Fantastic Journey (1977) and as Steven ‘Dusty’ Farlow in 31 episodes of Dallas (1979-91). He has many other TV appearances to his credit and he has also appeared in a number of cult films. In 1994 Jared co-founded the The Big Picture Alliance which helps inner city youth by providing a way to both reach and teach them film and TV skills, and to become civically aware of community issues.
More about Cult TV:
Cult TV in the UK has, for the last 24 years, been a grass roots fan movement, celebrating TV with a cult following from the 1960s right up to today’s cult hits from both the UK and the USA. It is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, offering you the best value it can, not for the benefit of shareholders but for the well-being of various charities.
Visit the website: www.cult.tv
Your registration fee includes access to all the Weekender’s events from Noon Friday until Noon Monday – interviews, workshops, quizzes, games, charity auctions, exclusive screenings, merchandise traders hall, 24 hour video rooms, theme parties, the Friday night fun & games, the Saturday Awards Ceremony and the Sunday Star Cabaret. You also get two free autographs from all our celebrity guests (subject to their availability) – one on your event brochure (a souvenir that is also included in your registration fee), and one on something of your own. You also get an extensive ‘pack’ containing all sorts of goodies! Your accommodation cost includes three nights’ bed, breakfast and evening meal.
The venue is the Heythrop Park Hotel, nr. Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, UK. This year’s venue is a historic English stately home with state of the art conference facilities and modern bedrooms and provides excellent value for our attendees. Click here for the hotel website: www.heythroppark.co.uk
The hotel is situated between London and Birmingham and is a short distance from the M40 motorway. We are a train ride away from London Heathrow and Birmingham International airports.
