well, it was kind of left wide open for one if you ask me... like megatron is really gonna stay at the bottom of the ocean. besides, there wasn't nearly enough of him in the movie, starscream either. the logical conclusion is that they'll both get a lot more screentime in a sequel. and surely thats not the end of Jazz, they'll figure out a way to bring him back to life.

It's just a shame that Scatman Cruthers has passed. It would have been awesome to hear his voice again as Jazz.

They should have renamed Jazz 'Disco', then Ironhide could have said, "I'm sorry Optimus, but Disco's dead," and a stunned Optimus could shout back emotionally in shocked disbelief, "Disco's not dead!"
*Sorry*

I saw this last night and absolutely loved it - yes I am a big fan of the 80's cartoons and own them even though I am 26!!!
I agree with the comments - advertising is annoying (Ebay, Panasonic, The cars, etc), Michael Bay's slow motion bullcrap on the soldiers (Flag waving without a flag), and not enough Megatron Starscream banter - "You disapoint me Starscream!" But, all in all Bay has done an excellent job. It was funny. It was action packed. It kept me smiling all the way through (especially when Megatron flicks away the human). No, it isn't complex and we've not got a 'usual' Oscar film here - but that isn't Transformers and it was never going to be that. It is giant opposing robots beating the sh!t out of each other, killing humans and smashing up a city. Excellent, 9 out of 10 for me. Bring on the sequel when the others come to Earth.
p.s. The second season of the cartoon had a Decepticon base under the ocean!
