Who has seen this? It is a film by John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing, etc.) made in the late 80s and starring Roddy Pipper (ex WWF wrestler). www.imdb.com/title/tt0096256/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/They_LiveIt has taken me a while to get hold of this and watch it, but I have to say when you get over the corny 80s sayings this is actually a good sci-fi/action movie. I really enjoyed it and am going to watch the extras on the DVD too. Once again another good, thought provoking Carpenter film.

I've been a huge fan of this lesser known Carpenter gem since not long after it was first released. Roddy Piper and Keith David make a brilliant buddy team in it and the fight between them over putting on the sunglasses is just fantastic. This film is what inspired the Duke Nuke Em games. "I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all outta bubblegum!"

Ace film shame about the DVD commentary. John Carpenter's commentaries are usually worth the DVD price alone... but in this one it's mainly Roddy Piper fishing for compliments from JC about his acting ad nauseum. Pity.

Yes, after you told me that I never listened to it, despite having owned the DVD for nearly 10 years!

Oh. Sorry. Well, it may be worth a listen for the usual JC wisdom about the film in places. But, as I say, it's mostly about Roddy P's insecurity. At least, that's the way I heard it.
