the use of the word anomaly which seems to spring up a bit too often - "Sir we're picking up a few anomalies on the surface of that planet!". Sure anomalies are usually in space not on planets? I'll get me cloak-ing device. I've seen it used to describe things in space, on planets and a few other things. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to use it sometimes but it seems to crop up a lot in sci fi and I think it was used in Primeval recently.
