I loved this film, i thought it was one of the best independent sci fi movies made in many a year.
Well in an interview with Vin Diesel hes acquired the rights to COR and writers ahve already written an outline for a trilogy of movies (2 more) where he goes to the 'Underverse' and meets all kind of strange stuff.
I hope so, i hope they keep to the quality of the first COR film.

I really like this movie too. It's not great and Pitch Black is better- sleeker and more stylish, but I'd like to see the rest of the story. I think that they easily have Diesel's best performances in them. Though he was pretty good in Saving Private Ryan, but only had a small part.
Apparently David Twohy is very keen to keep it going too- it's just the funding etc that is the barrier.

"...i thought it was one of the best independent sci fi movies made in many a year..."
I have to say I couldnt disagree more. I'd say its one of the worse follow-up films ever made, appauling acting, substandard graphics shoved down your neck in every frame to hide the fact its a shitty story and bad plot. Pitch black is, and always will be in my top 5 all time favourite films and I was thoroughly dis-heartened at this film, I hope no more come out to dig themselves into an even bigger hole of crappiness, I wish they'd leave films as stand alone these days. Not everything should have sequals/prequals and Pitch Black was one of those films.
Vin Diesel:
Pitch Black: Fan'smeggin'tastic Shaving Ryan's Privates: Great Fast and the Furious: hmm maybe should have turned that one down xXx: oh boy, what was he thinking.

We are talking the same film right.
Chronicles of Riddick's was one of the most original stylish sci fi movies made in a long time.

We are talking the same film right. Chronicles of Riddick's was one of the most original stylish sci fi movies made in a long time. I wouldn't go quite as far as that, but decent enough it was and I pull it out to watch from time to time- I think Karl Urban was the worst thing about this movie. And Lord of the Rings too, for that matter- shocking degrees of overacting.

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Chronicles of Riddick". I thought it was a highly imaginative, original story, one we haven't seen before. The art design was fantastic, too. The FX may not have been quite up to "Star Wars" quality, but they were certainly well done. However, my opinion may be in the minority, since the consensus of my friends was that this is a bad movie. What can I say? I like space opera.
