When i first heard of this series i thought, oh god! 
but...
I'm eating my words its a brilliant little show!
SPOILERS****
The idea is simple but quite clever, 2 years after the attack on Cyberdyne where Connor, John and Arnie killed Dyson and destroyed the Skynet project, the Connor family is about to lower their guard. 1997 came and went, no Judgment Day.
but
A terminator arrives to continue the mission: terminate John Connor, after shooting up a school this new Terminator is stopped by a new female Terminator designed to look like a high school student and fledgling friend of John Connor.
The new terminator informs them that all they did was alter the time line not stop it, others are continuing the work to create Skynet. Sarah decides to find the new creators of Skynet and kill them. Cameron (nice name choice) the new Terminator shows Sarah and John a time transporter hidden in a bank vault and the three of them teleport 8 years into the future to 2007.
The news reports them dead in an 'explosion' at the bank, they feel that the police regard them dead and they can go about their new mission in anonymity.
but...
turns out the future John connor has sent numerous human rebel fighters back in time to pave the way for the furture by preparing for the war. Skynet sent multiple Terminators back to battle the rebels. Sarah, John, Cameron Terminator find that they are in the middle of a war before a war between the rebels and new Terminators...
but Sarah also finds out shes going to/has died of Leukaemia (link to T3.) and she has several years to try to battle this...
Overall: awesome start, the acting is tight and effective. The script is equally no nonsense and the story cracks on at a pace. The Terminator vs terminator battles evoke the Arnie vs T1000 fights with trucks bikes and walls used as weapons.
Sarah and Cameron Terminator are eye candy couple of cute chicks, heh but they can act too.
i was left hungry for pt three... dam dam dammit.
