Damn. Kurt Vonnegut has died. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6547399.stmHe's passed on at a ripe old age, but I'm still sad to hear the news. Up to the end the guy was a great voice and mind that kept questioning. And if you haven't read Slaughterhouse 5 or Player Piano, then I reckon you should. Rest in peace, Kurt. See you in that great alien zoo sometime. So it goes.

Slaughterhouse 5 should be required reading for every human on the planet, with the Sirens of Titan coming a close second. Vonnegut always came across to me as one of the most 'human' people to have inhabited this planet.

He was a picador up to the end. I'd seen him on the daily show demonstrating his still-brilliant wit and was saddened to hear of his death so soon afterward. The world is less than it was since his passing. He probably had this quote by Horace Walpole tatooed on his backside to amuse the undertaker: "This world is a comedy to those that think; a tragedy to those that feel. "
