I actually know people who have worked and met the man and they have told me that he is a big headed as he appears. Well i reserved judgment until today when he claims to have found the tombs of Jesus Christ himself! okayy what ever. Now I'm agnostic, not religious. I think such a claim is dangerous and lets face it: arrogant in the extreme. Experts all the markings on the tombs are common for the period and could be absolutely anyone. He also claims to have DNA evidence? Is there DNA for Jesus ever found? LOL thats even more ludicrous. www.entertainmentwise.com/news?id=28535www.rawstory.com/news/2007/Fox_slams_James_Cameron_for_Jesus_0226.htmlWell Cameron needs to be careful. The US is full of Christian Fundamentalists and although they aren't prone to strapping Semtex to themselves, there always is a first time.

Yes but don't forget, he was also there when the Titanic sank, and he was also the first man to find aliens in the sea!

I'm sorry but until history can prove otherwise, Jesus was an analgram of different people and events.Whislt I have no doubt there was a man called Jesus, there were many so called messiahs with the same name performing the same miricles and being crucified at the time. So DNA evidence? Interesting. It would have to be a lot of people

Oh come on, let the man have his fun! I would do the same cr*p if I were him. There’s no telling how many things I would “discover” if I were as rich and famous as him.

We talked about this at the Tuesday night chat room run by a Kansas fan (Roger Tener in Wichita, who I'm sure very few here have heard of), and the consensus was that Cameron was hyping this for the publicity. Too bad, he just lost some of the respect I had for him.
But Sci-Fi Shock Troopers-- Please! Attacking someone else's religion is one of the most insulting things you can do. This forum doesn't need that. If you've done so, I hope you'll edit your remarks and delete those comments. And no I'm not a moderator here-- that's just a request, but I think a reasonable one.

Just as a footnote, I was making a cheeky comment as to Cameron's arrogance, not his religous leanings...
...Cruise is far more wacko in that respect ;D

Lensman, I am asuming you meant my post for one, and I can see your point. So therefore I have deleted it. It was a joke way of putting my beliefs across, and I meant nothing by it. But I can see that it could have come across offensive to some, agreed. That's for pointing it out

I dont care if one day they discover his body, i dont care if we leaned that he was married, and a father, to me it would still be Jesus, and a good person, that did something that we still remember him after all this time.
As for Cameron, you are absolutly right he better be carefull with Christian Fondamentalist. Really he did'nt need to do a thing like that, my gosh, some peoples like to complicate their lives. Chantale.

I;m not sure that we do rember "Jesus". We certainly don't ascribed to his teachings and I;ve yet to see any Christian or otherwise who actully does.
On another note, if I were an Archilaogist the last person I'd get to nback my claim is another film director who woudl love to make a follow up to the Divinchi Code. Hmm do I see Hollywood bucks coming in here?

I'm really surprised that I can't easily find Internet articles exposing this for the hoax it very probably is. A few years ago there was an antiquities dealer who claimed to have found an ossuary (a depository for the bones of the dead) inscribed "James, brother of Jesus". This dealer is currently on trial in Israel for running a forgery ring, and experts have dismissed the claim as fraudulent.
Now, Cameron's documentary claims that several more ossuaries from the same group are from Jesus' family tomb. Honestly, how many times does something need to be exposed as a fraud?
And as one expert noted, why would Jesus' family, which lived in Nazareth, have a tomb in or near Jerusalem? And if Jesus' family was poor, it's unlikely they'd even own their own tomb. Note the gospels specify Jesus was buried in another family's tomb.
Add to this the rather obvious plot elements from the popular book and movie "The da Vinci Code" (the claim that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children), and it seems pretty obvious this is nothing but a publicity stunt and a fraud.
Of course I can't *prove* it's a fraud, but then I can't *prove* the moon isn't made of green cheese, either. .
