A nice little article on the BBC website on this (for me) much loved comic. i grew up reading these guts and glory boys own adventures of courage against the odds. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6599139.stm

My uncle gave me a huge stack of those little mags when I was younger. I remember reading and re-reading them time and again. Fantastic stuff.
The dialogue is of course timeless.
'Eat lead Fritz!' 'Mien Gott! der Britishers! aieeee!!!' 'Donner und Blitzen!'
Made me the man I am today, though admittedly that is a man whose major skill is being able to tell the difference between an MG34 and an Mg 42, as well as recognising all the different marks of Sten, Bren and Lee-Enfield that were ever issued to the British army (which to be honest isn't that useful in real life).

'Gott in himmell!' 'Der Tommy!' 'Aieeeeeeee!' Awesome stuff. But is it still the same thing it was when I was a nipper?

Yes, it is still supposed to be the same except that they have also run some storylines from different wars and time periods as well as the main WWII stuff.

Great stuff and it's amazing they're still going! I used to get all those comics - Battle, Commando and War [ amongst others ] and the artwork and stories were very well done. There was also a sci fi version called Starblazer. I've still got quite a few of them somewhere.
