Remember the old Capri I started working on yonks ago? (just over a year!) I came up with the crazy idea of brush painting red Hammerite on the bodywork, then sanding it flat before finishing with lots of elbow grease and T-cut. This is after painting one wing, and as you can imagine it starts off looking bloody terrible. Most of the car is finished here, and after many hours of sanding and polishing, it's really working! Many more hours of work, but at the fraction of the cost of a respray, I got the car looking better than many professional jobs I've seen! If I'd have forked out a load of dosh on a respray, I'd be afraid to park it anywhere, but this method means that if I get any dings or scratches, I just bung on more Hammerite, wait for it to cure, then sand and polish again. The car is back on the road tomorrow, (I've done loads of welding and replaced many of the engine components) and I'm looking forward to taking the old girl for a spin! I've even fitted a 70's draylon interior to make it look truly original. I'll post more piccies soon.

I'm enjoying the reruns on ITV4 on Tuesdays. My brother had a mark 3 like bodies but it was all black with spoilers all around and slatted windows. It could bloody fly! Only .0001 miles to the gallon though!
