This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen! Imagine being a pylon cable linesman, doing repairs on the cables whilst they're fully live (half a million Volts!), and being lowered onto them by helicopter! It's the Faraday principle at it's best. This short film section shows how it's done, click the link and enjoy! Amazing!! www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2007-5-19-High_Powered_Job.wmv

I love the bit when he mentions the three things he's afraid of...

I was watching GMTV the other day and a warning was given out about kids playing near a new railway line that used a new way of getting the power to the train. The expert said that the form of electric is attracted to metallic objects even as small sa a ring so if a kid pissed about near it he could be zapped by so many volts that the kid would be vapourised almost in an instant!

Would that be the new "General Electric Motive Power/ Chav barbecue" system? ;D

If they are idiotic to play on railway lines then sorry to say i have no sympathy if they end up taking a dirt nap no matter how young they are. D.F.
