Has anyone else noticed this recently?
I honestly believe it's getting much worse than it was before. It's not just stupid chain mail now (Repost on 5 other vids and sunday will be the best day of your life because <insert stupid reason here will happen>). I've seen ads for other sites in people's comments and I recently deleted one from my vids myself.

Yea, it's getting very annoying. Spoils the whole purpose of having an internet community of sorts on there.

Just been on Youtube watching Ivor the Engine and other old favourites (as you do), and the comments are riddled with spam. Well, the site relies on advertising and they care about revenue more than bothering to have it properly administrated, as difficult as it would be. It'll bite them in the arse eventually but in the meantime it's probably just best to ignore the twats who bombard it with crap. The problem is, there are so many thick gits who subscribe to the crap that keeps the spammers going, it's chav society in motion yet again!
Tossers!!

I run a You Tube profile and stick videos on and for awhile it was ok the odd comment here and there but then the floodgates opened and all the spam started flowing in so...
I simply disabled all comments for all my vids as i was sick and tired of seemingly forever having to delete the crap, it's a shame of course as it's nice to get other's views on what you place on there but untill YouTube get off their ass and do something then i,m going to keep the ban in place.
