lol!!! Back OT, "It will examine to what extent the books and films reflect the reality of the Cold War and life in postwar Britain and how far they were a product of Fleming’s prodigious imagination." It's funny being able to look back on the cold war with a kind of terrifying nostalga, but the Bond storys captured that feel perfectly. Ahh, the happy days of the V force and English Electric Lightnings! Marvelous!!!

Looking back on that whole period leaves me feeling quite cold at how close we all came to oblivion on several occassions.

That's worth a look. As some will know, the Cold War has long fascinated me, especially the second Cold War in the 70's and 80's. Vulcans! WHOOSH!
