I'm weird in that they give me the shivers (conditioning, perhaps) but I still feel for them.
I always try to shove them out a window or something.

i once found a funnell web spider interesting web they build and if it wasn't for spiders we'd have wayyy to many flies YUCK now they annoy me and bluebottles too |

Yeah, they keep the bug population down, amongst other things. We have a lot to thank them for, yet we squash them.

But they DON'T creep up on us. They just go about their business. If they see a human they will run like buggery. That's why I think it's unfair that we squash them indescriminately. Having said that. If we are asleep, they MAY crawl in our mouths. What was that stat I once heard? The average person swallows 2-3 spiders, PER YEAR!, in their sleep?
