That is terrible!!! Why do people let dogs run amok that that? Pit bulls are not inherently vicious dogs. People make them that way for status. "Look at my attack dog!" ugh....

Pitbulls are like that because their master made it like this, i listen to a show on National Geographic the name of the Guy is Cesar Millan, and he deal with pitbull along with all other kinds of dogs, and they are not differents from the other races, but what we do with them is what we see in this story, i would not have a pittbull tho, i would not take a chance. that poor animal, and poor little guy that had this little horse, and the whole family,
Yes it is very sad, and fustrating. lets hope one day this will stop, there is a lot of problems like this but usually it is childrens that are bitten,
So two solutions, stop the breed or reinforce the law in a way that these dogs are not raised in a way that they will become monsters.
Chantale.

That story is sickening. Some people just haven't got the sense they were born with. Why do people have to idolise such animals? It must be inherant in their own genes to be vicious and nasty to the rest of mankind.
I for one would never have anything to do with these nasty animals. I hate dogs.

Now, Dogs aren't bad. I don't care what anyone says. This is all down to idiotic owners who breed and train them to be like that. This is the kind of thing that caused many much loved, placid family pets to be painted as the devil incarnate... and destroyed. Just because a few people don't have the human decency to bring their pets up right. Dogs look upon their owners as the leader of their pack.... and act as they are taught to. And there lies the problem. Chantale and Melee had a good point there. I know people who have pitbulls and they really are part of the family and they have never had any problem with them. In the right hands they are 'soft as shite'. But any dog can be vicious if trained to be so. We need to penalise these fucked up owners, not their pets.

He would roll around on the floor with her then six year old son and took all the abuse a small child can dish out. I have photos of my friend and her dog re-enacting Lady and the Tramp with a piece of red rope licorice. If this dog was mean, I wouldn't let my face get that close. It's all in how they are raised. Just like children, really. if you teach them right, they will grow to be good and kind.

That is such a sad story.... I feel so sorry for that poor child. He must have been heartbroken - not a good thing when you have an illness like that, where keeping yourself going depends on your happiness and having a strong will to live. I really hope they get enough money to get him a second pony. Poor kid. Whoever raised those pitbulls should certainly be ashamed of themselves... their lack of proper care for their pets and inability/unwillingness to control the animals is atrocious. I agree with krakatoa that there should be more control over how pitbulls are raised and bred... these animals have the potential to be lovely pets people keep encouraging them to be 'fighting' dogs through selective breeding and bad care. It's just not right.
