Its' just been announced that Jeremy Beadle has died from pneumonia.
The following is taken from the Daily Mail Online:
"The former Beadle's About and You've Been Framed presenter had battled leukaemia and cancer in recent years, and died of pneumonia after being admitted to a North London hospital last week.
"His wife Sue and close friends were at his bedside.
In a statement, Beadle's agent, Nick Canham of MPC entertainment, said: "Our heartfelt condolences go to his wife Sue, his two daughters, Cassie and Bonnie and his stepchildren Leo and Claire. He will be greatly missed." As a stalwart of ITV for many years, Beadle regularly pulled in television audiences in excess of 15 million for Beadle's About and You've Been Framed. His Saturday night shows were the first to win the ratings battle with BBC.
Beadle, who was 59, was a significant fundraiser for Children with Leukaemia throughout his life and is estimated to have raised more than £100 million for charities of all description.
He was awarded an MBE in 2001 for his charity work.
Beadle was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, but never allowed the condition to affect him.
Last autumn, he released three new books, and prior to his illness he was working on a series of television formats.
Born in Hackney, he attended Orpington County Secondary Boys' School and then had an adventurous youth travelling and working throughout Europe. He worked as a taxi driver, tour guide, music festival promoter, co-edited Time Out London and edited Time Out in the North West. "
This is so tragic. Jeremy Beadle was a legend and I remember him from Game from a lugh which I regularly watched as a teenager.
My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
Jeremy Beadle R.I.P.
