You know those incredibly long-winded first sentences in some books? Well, you can submit yours here. Here's mine: "Bob was horrified, but not quite horrified really, it was more like a somewhat shocking terror where your heart skips a beat, but a little more mild, like that dark feeling in pit of your stomach when you miss a step at night on the stairs, except Bob had an elevator, not stairs, so he couldn't really have that level of fear, and while he was contemplating these different levels of fear, the monster advanced further and nearly gobbled up Bob when he reminded himself that he was so busy contemplating that he had forgotten his fear, and consequently Bob wrestled the monster to death, which is kinda sad, because by now the reader probably hates Bob and was rooting for the monster." Can you top it?

Tell me that was from some crappy self published book and not from a traditionally published one!!! That is truly awful.
