No, really. This is great.
Star Wreck features arrogant and clueless Federation Captain Pirk stranded on Earth with his crew in the present day due to a First Contact style 'Korg' trouble. What to do to ensure the future of the starfleet?
Declare yourself Emperor, build a new starship maintained by the safety guy who worked at Chernobyl and conquer Russia - and then the World! (All featured in a fantastic old style propaganda video, which throws in a dig at France surrending - again)
But the world is not enough for the mad Captain when he finds a wormhole leading to Babel-13 space, where the endless speech-making Captain Sherrypie is leader, and so he leads his new fleet of ships to conquer another franchise!
Featuring astonishingly high production values for a fanfilm, Star Wreck: In the Pirkening has been shown on Finnish, Italian and German television - somehow evading countless lawyers belonging to Paramount and Universal. The effects are - by and large - almost as good as the Deep Space 9 era of Star Trek, and there is a huge extras cast of up to 300. Detailed sets, uniforms and film editing, lighting and direction to put Timothy Hines to shame round it off.
It's not perfect, sometimes the script throws in a few too many lame jokes and the acting is shaky at times - but the lunacy of the entire thing has utterly won me over. Basically, everybody ignores the prime directive and blows sh*t up.
The space battles would make Rusti cry with joy as well - B5 vs Star Trek ships - and the battles are amazingly well done, funny and go on for quite a while! (Should cure his 'no battles in Battlestar blues'! )
It weighs in at 500 megs due to being an hour and forty three minutes long, but it is very good in my opinion.
Despite a lot of awful puns.
Website here... (Trailer on main page for the Imperial Edition, which has redone all the effects to make the ships copywrite avoiding, the download here is the older, yet ace edit, which has the proper ships from the shows.)

Bit-torrent here - remember to chose the subtitled one!

The silly funsters behind it...
