www.youtube.com/watch?v=v76Zd9s1VGYPeople slag off Moonraker but i loved it! The design work is fantstic (if only the ISS was like this station) the spacesuit battle is cool and accurate too. Even a near fatal hit will kill you, either you'll burn up, suffocate or explosivly explode due to decompression. I think Michael Lonsdale aka Drax is a brilliant baddie.

That space battle is ace! It sort of inspired the undersea battle in my War of the Worlds: Aftermath story, too.

yeah it is so cool. Bond: " I didnt think there were seasons in space?" Drax: "For you Mr Bond, only winter." Classic.

Top space battle and some impressive effects work. However, I do think that the movie as a whole is pretty appalling. Sorry! My fave Bond movie is either 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', 'Goldfinger' or 'Casino Royale'. Moonraker is, however, my fave Bond book. It is utterly different to the film.

"Moonraker" is one of my guilty pleasures, too. Sure there's a lot of asinine stuff in it, but there's some wonderful entertainment, too, as long as you don't try to take it seriously.
The only Bond film that sticks closely to the original novel by Ian Fleming is "From Russia, With Love". And not coincidentally, it's one of my very favorite Bond films.
"Thunderball" is also quite close, but I'm not sure that counts, as the story was developed to *be* a movie, then was novelized by Fleming.
