Well I *used* to post a lot at the Liftport forum, which is for a company that says it wants to build the first space elevator, but I eventually got tired of arguing with people who either have a very limited understanding of the physics involved, or are outright crackpots. For some reason, online forums involving physics seem to attract a *lot* of people with crackpot ideas about science. And even for the non-crackpots, some of the frequent post-ers on that forum refuse to listen when you try to explain things to them. Or maybe it's just that I'm an arrogant SOB. www.liftport.com/forums/I also enjoy reading the Disney Sub forum, which is aimed at model builders of Disney's Nautilus from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". It's not a subject I'm really all that interested in, but I've occasionally posted there. What makes it interesting reading is that, like *this* forum, there's a lot of intelligent discussion going on, which seems to be all too rare in online forums. www.disneysub.com/forum/Most of my online activity is participation in e-mail list discussions. My local science fiction club has one, and I'm also one of the more active members on the Larry Niven discussion list, and I also belong to the H. Beam Piper list. So far I haven't found an active list for "Doc" Smith fans. ("Doc" Smith wrote the Lensman series.) There is one forum for the Lensman series, and I have made several posts there, but it has very little activity. www20.brinkster.com/pariahpress/toast/toast.asp

I frequent www.starttherevolution.org which is an anti Tony Blair/ New World Order forum. We discuss basically the erotion of our human rights and how the elite few will be trying to control us all using the advanced technology thats here and coming soon. We also discuss things that are here now such as video cameras everywhere watching our everymove, computer chips in our bins monitoring our waste and how the EU is turning into the aforementioned Orwellian NWO and how the people are sleep walking headlong into it.

Yep, just visited and they look like a load of paranoid nutters! ;D One day these people will realise that government is one big headless chicken swayed by populism and soundbites and we are really being directed and controlled by multinational corporations (against which we have no voting power). Rusti - don't waste your energy on Blair, he's on his way out any day now KR

Done for treason and war crimes then dangled off a high branch. Also he coulnt have done all his damage alone, so i'd have all the front bench of the labour party rounded up too and dragged into woods somewhere. As for the multi nationals i think you are right, someone behind Blair is pulling strings and its the big companies or a kabal of them. Still we are straying from the topic here.

I post on World of Stuart, a forum belonging to Stuart Campbell - a tiny, angry Scotchman and revolutionary games journalist. They're very funny there, intelligent and borderline evil. invisionfree.com/forums/worldofstuart/index.php?s=3825c432835a6549dee8644c492eeea8&showforum=1I also posted on - and when it comes back will again - the 'Friends of English Magic' forum. Which was in its infancy before server troubles shut it down, and which revolves around the Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell books by Susanna Clarke. www.foem.org.uk/I also sometimes post on the Neil Gaiman forum found here. He is a tremendous writer. www.neilgaiman.comAnother site I posted at is 'Godawful Fan Fiction.net', which snarked at the worst fan fiction in the world out there. That, however, is down at the moment as well. There's a couple of writers sites I sporadically post on as well, but mainly I lurk at those.
