Amazing! Really looking forward to hearing/seeing more! Well done, this truly has the potential to be brilliant! (well, more brilliant than it already is!)

Commandingtripod you don't need to upload to another site like photobucket, every image on the net has to have a URL address. :)To do it yourself, simply right click on your chosen image, select; copy image URL, from the drop down menu and past the image address in between the [ img ] ------- [ /img ] where I've put the dotted line. I tried that and it didn't work, I must have copied the wrong link.

Whereas that is true it's a somewhat controversial way to do things. It's called hotlinking and some people are very against you doing that and indeed some website have systems to disallow it by automatically substituting the image for a 'hotlinking is not allowed' image. It uses the other persons bandwidth and therefore money. It's always more polite to upload the images. Though that said, I've been known to do it here and there

Thanks Lonesome for putting up the images. I cannot post images that way as I dont have the copy URL option! Im running a copy of Windows Awkward(TM) In response to Relyts thoughts. You are right in a sense. The wallpaper render shows the FM in an almost empty environment and it is only reflecting a grey floor, blue sky and bright sunshine.(My fault!) HG describes the FM as "a walking engine of glittering metal" and in order to make that work in any scene, I have used a highly polished aluminium shader for most of the FM. I have uploaded a test shot of the FM in "Dead" London. here.. steveas.deviantart.com/In this shot there is more for the MR engine to raytrace and reflect hence it takes on a different hue. See what you think. I have also uploaded an image of the model of Shepperton church which is nearly finished.(the is also a shot of the Autodoc from ALIEN(s) for any Ridley fans.) In answer to another query, Yes I have seen the work of TroC and love it. There were several elements which he created which proved very popular such as the slightly arachnid feel to the FM(this is mentioned by HG in the novel) and I kept that in mind. This version however, had to be designed with animation in mind and it had to be able to walk, bend, stretch, stride and balance easily to be believable. Some designs are simply too clunky to be graceful when moving and some simply dont work if one wants to keep the laws of physics! If it is of interest, I can upload one of the test animations to see what you think. Meanwhile, thanks again for all the comments. I appreciate them. Kindest regards.

If it is of interest, I can upload one of the test animations to see what you think. If it's of interest? you bet ya! we're like a starving mob, just waiting for the next morsel to fall from your table... I mean Yes please, that would be wonderful. ;D

I didn't know it was frowned upon.

Thanks Lonesome for putting up the images. I cannot post images that way as I dont have the copy URL option! Yeah thats an option in Firefox too. Get with the 21st century and ditch Internet Explorer! if you feel you must persist with that piece of crap explorer then right click the image, select properties and select and copy the 'address (URL)' code. then carry on as before.

Been away for a while and now I'm back - nice to see those pics. The tripod looks like a cross between the Roger Dean ones and a bit Troc like.

Well those pics they provided looked good. Certainly some of the better interpretations I've seen and they have some nice detail. The one of Dead London looks really cool.

I'm still quite sceptical about this but now my computers working a bit better [ touch wood ] I can see the pics better. Some nice work on Steve's site and as I said the tripods look a bit Troc like with a bit of Roger Dean which I think is no bad thing - and they're pretty much faithful to the books description . How about an update MGM?

Hello! I must remember- alt Q - not alt s..oops Thanks to Lonesome for the nudge! Ive not been scared off, just been really really busy! I do apologise for going awol! We have a new associate company structure now which enables me to fast track the bread and butter work ( pop vids etc) and concentrate on stuff like WOTW the rest of the time. We currently have 2 features on the go and usually have 2 popvids a month so things have slowed down a bit for WOTW and our other secret gem....but having said that we have set aside 2 years for pre-production for WOTW. The post prod and shooting are not the problem here. Its the fine detail which is the headache...and we want to get it right. We dont want to shoot in Seattle and have steamboats travel sideways..( bit of fine detail there). The second issue is copyright which nobody seems to have a definite handle on. I am not bothered if this ends up a not for profit fanfilm as opposed to a profitable venture as the end result will be about the same BUT the latter will take less time ( and potentially invite more interference?). Swings and roundabouts! I agree with fallingstar, what do you think MGM? We could potentially save some time here if we are rowing in the same direction. Kindest regards to all and thanks again.
