It's still there. The path has just changed slightly. Looks very awesome, and I've got to see it in the cinema!! It's so good to have a film to get excited about again, and for it to be this good!!

Cloverfield update from the Poyks's: Just got back & Mrs Poyks was feeling very queezy whilst in the cinema and couldn't watch some of it due to feeling sick (there are warnings up apparently as Mr Poyks pointed out to me after the film!). How I can spend hours on rides at Alton Towers & never feel sick , yet I can't watch the whole of a 85minute film is beyond me Anyway enough of my ramblings....... All I'll say about the film is that it's the bizarrest film I've ever seen! Mr Poyks will update you all properly in due course!

I'll not spoil the plot, but it was awesome!! The dodgy pirate gives good clues, but does it no justice. The real thing is a must see, and make sure your local cinema has good surround and bass! The special effects are brilliant and seamless, and the sound really is superb! You can easily get into the feeling of panic and fear, and the few 'jump out of your seat' parts work very well! The filming concept works well, as you don't feel you're watching a movie in the conventional sense, and yes, the wobble can certainly make you feel a bit dizzy (watch out for the 'motion sickness' warning signs at the ticket windows!). Looking forward to the DVD!

just this minute come back from the cinema and I apologise for swearing but.. what a fucking amazing film!!!! I seriously want to go back right now and watch it all over again straight away!!! seriously intense all the way through. I heard that people were feeling giddy and sick after seeing this and I thought 'yeah yeah bloody over acting or what' but you really do, i felt the effects of motion sickness after literally 5 mins and i never get motion sickness. there were a few people leaving before even the middle of the film which is a shame because they missed such a quality film. You got used to the motion after a while but it never completely went away and i can still feel the effects as im typing this. I loved the alien/monster/thing (whatever it was) dont think they ever explained it to be honest. and really wished it was 15 mins longer to tie up loose strings. i usually frown upon a film packed full of pretty people as just a gimmick to get people to watch it, and this was one of those but it didnt detract from the overall feel at all I think, and I thought it was quite funny that they kept the ugly guy behind the camcorder for the duration of the film haha! The acting was damn good, the effects were stunning, the monster was really terrifying and a bloody original design, not like all the two-legged humanoid mutants you get. love seeing original creations. There was just enough military involvement not to get annoying. It was truly the loudest film ive ever witnessed especially when all the tanks were firing, loved it! really felt like you were there, with the surface to air missiles whooshing past you and gun fire from every angle. I also liked the fact the 'monster' was virtually always keep out of view either by buildings, crap camera work or smoke/dust. Its the whole 'what you dont see is scarier' thing happening here and thats was great, their necessity to pimp their new graphics down you throat at every possible moment *cough*GeorgeLucas*cough* wasnt there, it was kept to what was right. I cant really rate this film high enough, bloody awesome and seriously cant wait to see it again. AMAZING!! If you havent noticed by now, I rather liked the film [edit] wow just seen what I typed, blimey! hehe. [edit] wow im the 8th highest poster on the whole site! blimey! and im very surpirsed to see that nerfy isnt the highest! steann is, nerfy you're slacking!

Nice one MrG! I love the fact that you don't get to know what it was, or where the hell it came from! 'What you don't see is scarier', is a bloody good description.

Nice one MrG! I love the fact that you don't get to know what it was, or where the hell it came from. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but you do find out where the creature came from at the very end of the film. SPOILER ALERT! After the scene under the bridge the recording reverts for a few seconds back to the date at Coney Island, we see a view of the ocean alongside the park, with Rob telling Beth that the battery's about to give out and they have about three seconds to say something. You know, the 'perfect day' comment. In that ocean view, just along the right hand side of the screen, we can just make out something dark falling out of the sky; it looks tiny, until it splashes into the ocean... on the horizon! So it came from outer space. END OF SPOILER !If you have it on DVD check it out. Oh, and yes it was a brilliant film.

I was there with the DVD and rewind button the other day and spotted it eventually! Looks good overall on DVD, and you don't get the motion sickness that the cinema viewing induced!

:(I always feel sick after a visit to the cinema... Of course that could be due to the gallon of Pepsi and half hundred weight of popcorn I'd just consumed. ;D
