Has anyone been to www.eveofthewar.co.uk? There's a really funny comic in the comics section of its forum called "The Invasion of Earth." It's created by none other than Peter Fussey and it's a martian's account of The War of the Worlds. Basically, the war was an accident created by the martians (who are surprisingly dim-witted)on their trip to Venus (to invade there instead). The comic is extremely true to the novel, including explanations of the strangeness of their stuff ( for example, the "Fighting Machines" were actually supposed to be four-legged shopping carts!) and references to things outside of the book (for example, one of the martians was named Kenny (I'll let ya'll figure that out on your own!  )) The comic's still being made, so I'll keep this site updated when there's been another addition to this fantastic piece of comedy! |

Did you go to the forums? From there, you scroll down the page until you see a box marked "Comics" in the catagory called "War of the Worlds- Classic." Click on "Comics" and you will see many threads. "The Invasion of Earth" thread should be at the top of the list, and it has 17 pages. Hope that helps, and remember- it's www.eveofthewar.co.uk . |

That is truly wonderful work, ive requested a membership from the admin (due to the automated membership being withdrawn) just so I can go and congratualte him on some astonishing work, ive been reading it over the past 2-3 days and loved every god damn page of it. What I didnt like however was that it wasnt finished yet! nooooo! i have to wait for more! NOOOOO! hehe , really cant wait

You know what they say: "One of the best parts of a trip is getting there." I know the comic isn't a trip, but you still wait for it, so it's kinda the same concept... Anyway, when you DO join the forum, let Peter Fussey/ "Lonesome Crow" know that I'm a fan too and I've been spreading the word about his comic as a sort of free advertising campaign for him (I just had to do SOMETHING in return for his providing of his fantastic work) and that people ARE reading his comic. I'm not a member of that forum you see... But PLEASE do this on my part if you have the time! |
