I don't see anything about a "Tron" remake at IMDb.com, so I would guess it never went into production. Some movies don’t even get listed on IMBd until late in post production, or even after that, there still might be a chance.I liked both the 1997 and the 2002 (staring Michael Caine) adaptations of “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, I still don’t think that they have released the silent 1907 or 1916 adaptations on DVD yet. I’ve seen the 1954 Disney adaptation but I haven’t seen the 1973 or the 1985 animated adaptations yet. Another “Last Man in Earth/Omega Man” remake would be too soon, “28 Days Later” was already too close to being a remake for another one this early, even if it did barrow heavily from the “Day of The Triffids/Kingdom of The Blind” script. The 1924 version of “The Last Man on Earth” staring Earle Foxe was pretty funny.

In addition to I Am Legend, the basis for "The Last Man on Earth" and "The Omega Man", Richard Matheson wrote some excellent novels made into movies, and many screenplays. Those include "The Incredible Shrinking Man", "Somewhere in Time" (based on his Bid Time Return), "Stir of Echoes", "What Dreams May Come", "The Night Strangler" (the second "Carl Kolchak: The Night Stalker" TV movie), "Duel", "Master of the World", "Ghost Story" and the Classic Star Trek episode "The Enemy Within".

That Trek episode is fantastic. I knew he did a number of the ones you mentioned, but didn't know he'd written so much for the film industry.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe 'Disney Pictures' holds the rights to "TRON". Aparently, they realize it's potential, yet year after year continue to place it on the backburner. Why is anybody's guess... The original, I should point out also features the work of Mobius and Syd Mead. (Blade Runner)

“Capricorn One” is ripe for a remake, especially with all this going back to the moon, preparing for mars talk that NASA is doing. I’d like to see a modern spin on a farce mars mission.

Yes! That’s the best news I’ve heard in a long time, except when for when I found out that “Alien vs. Predator 2” was rapping up post production and that someone from “Stargate: Atlantis” was going to star in it.

I would quite like to see a remake of Saturn 3.

'Saturn 3'? Do you mean the big killer robot movie with Kirk Douglas and Harvey Keitel? I agree RB, that would be an interesting movie as a remake!

Yep, that's the one - also with Farrah Fawcett. 1980 if I remember rightly.

Hmmm how about a remake called 'Originality'
Its a little known story about a film studio that struggles to find an original story to turn into a film...'
Yes, i'm being sarcastic.

No really? I never would've guessed. Yes, the sometimes lack of original films is a constant source of irritation, but this thread is specifically about possible future remakes.
