Does look good.
Got to be better than the pieces of sh*t weve had recently.

Good find LC. That feeding martian concept is particularly gruesome.

I especially like how they got Adam Baldwin, who plays Jayne in Firefly and is one of my favorite characters.

Yeah, these days you can't have a really good scifi series without it being canceled after a few episodes.

Don't worry about making that mistake, Pete. Far worse things have been done than that. Like this one time, I saw a jar of crunchy peanut butter which had the warning, "May contain traces of peanuts."

Oh there's a surprise! Another pretend WOTW film/sequel/whatever it is set in America. I must sound like a right moaning git but I'm soooo fed up with all these crap Americanised attempts at things WOTW when nobody's yet done the book full justice.

To a point I agree, but you have to see it from the producers point of view too. They are making this film primarily for the American market (Films set in Britain don't do well across the pound). They have at least set it in the correct time frame (14 years after the original invasion). Be honest, would you really want to see a whole bunch of American actors trying to put on English accents? it would all be Dick Van Dyke cockneys and drinking tea with the little finger cocked out and the upper class calling everybody "old chap" the thought makes me shudder don't you know.... Oops! sorry about that, slipped into the vernacular. I would like to see a British made version of WotWs but that ain't going to happen, not with the strict copy right laws we have over here.

Some American actors can do really decent English accents [ all the band in Spinal Tap are American and they sound flawless ] plus they could easily get some English actors anyway. It's all just excuses, excuses, excuses as to why they can't do it. And there's many films set in England that have done quite well over the years. There's a new Sherlock Holmes movie coming out soon and for some strange reason [ I wonder why ] American film/tv studios are obsessed with making anything WOTW an American thing.

American film/tv studios are obsessed with making anything WOTW an American thing. Very true, if you ask most Americans (members of this forum excluded) if they had heard of 'The War of the Worlds'? most would say "Oh sure, that was that Orson Welles radio show back before the war" Most of them probably haven't even heard of H. G. Wells. I came across an on-line version of the 1938 radio show a few months ago and it was entitled 'Orson Welles and the Murcury Theatre Company in The Original Radio Version of War of the Worlds' Yes okay it is the Original Radio Version but to me that statement infers that Orson Welles & Mercury were the creators of the story and not just the first to air it on the wireless, nowhere did it mention H. G. Wells. I may be over sensitive about this sort of thing, but that really pisses me off.
